Role Overview

We are hiring for a client operating in a regulated business environment, seeking a Head of Accounting to serve as a strategic finance leader and trusted advisor to senior management. This role is responsible for leading the accounting function, overseeing financial reporting and compliance, and ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and effectiveness of all accounting operations while driving continuous improvement.

Schedule: Monday - Friday, between 9.00AM - 6.00PM
Work setup: Onsite

Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic financial guidance and advisory support to senior management and key stakeholders
  • Lead, manage, and develop a team of accounting professionals, ensuring adherence to accounting standards, policies, and procedures
  • Oversee the timely and accurate preparation of financial statements, management reports, and regulatory filings
  • Supervise core accounting activities, including general ledger management, reconciliations, and financial audits
  • Monitor and analyze financial data to identify risks, trends, and opportunities aligned with business objectives
  • Develop, implement, and enhance accounting policies, controls, and financial strategies
  • Address and resolve complex accounting or finance-related issues in collaboration with internal teams
  • Champion process improvement initiatives to strengthen efficiency, accuracy, and compliance
  • Perform other finance- and accounting-related duties as required

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
  • At least 15 years of progressive experience in accounting or financial management
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or equivalent professional certification is preferred
  • Strong expertise in accounting principles, financial reporting, and regulatory compliance
  • Proven experience leading and developing high-performing accounting teams
  • Proficient in accounting systems, financial software, and databases
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills
  • Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail
  • Proficient in standard computer applications, including Microsoft Office
  • Ability to perform effectively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
