Sales Manager – BPO Outbound Sales
We are seeking a highly driven and experienced Sales Manager to lead the outbound sales efforts for a fast-growing U.S.-headquartered outsourcing company. In this pivotal role, you will not only manage the full sales cycle from prospecting to closing but also be responsible for building and leading a team of Business Development Representatives (BDRs) from the ground up. This includes recruitment, onboarding, training, coaching, and performance management.
The ideal candidate is a proven closer with experience scaling outbound sales teams in the BPO, outsourcing, or virtual staffing space, and is excited to pioneer a results-driven sales culture. This role offers a guaranteed base pay for the first three months, transitioning to a commission-only structure afterward, with strong earning potential tied to team and individual performance.

Responsibilities
- Manage the full outbound sales cycle from lead identification, cold outreach, to closing and onboarding clients.
- Personally prospect and generate new leads, independently manage a personal sales pipeline, and close new business in addition to leading the team.
- Maintain individual sales targets alongside team performance goals, ensuring consistent contribution to overall revenue growth.
- Recruit, onboard, and train a team of Business Development Representatives (BDRs) to expand outbound efforts.
- Develop and refine outbound sales scripts, messaging, processes, and workflows based on real-time feedback and market insights.
- Coach and mentor BDRs through regular training sessions, 1:1 coaching, call reviews, and performance evaluations.
- Actively monitor individual and team KPIs, including outreach activity, conversion rates, pipeline health, and closed deals.
- Collaborate closely with leadership to continually improve sales strategies, targeting methods, and ideal client profiles.Manage CRM hygiene and ensure accurate tracking of all personal and team activities, pipeline stages, and deal progress.
- Represent the sales team’s needs and feedback in leadership meetings, helping to shape the company’s go-to-market efforts.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of outbound B2B sales experience, with at least 2 years in a leadership or team lead capacity.
- Experience in the BPO, outsourcing, virtual staffing, or remote staffing industry is highly preferred.
- Demonstrated success in building, training, and scaling sales teams from scratch.
- Skilled in cold prospecting, objection handling, closing, and client onboarding.
- Proficient in CRM and outreach platforms (e.g., HubSpot, Apollo, Close.com) and comfortable managing sales operations.
- Strong analytical, coaching, and performance management skills.
- Self-starter mentality with the ability to operate autonomously and drive results.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
Compensation
- 1099 Independent Contractor Role: This position is classified as a 1099 contractor engagement.
- First 3 Months: Guaranteed base pay plus commission during the initial ramp-up period.
- After 3 Months: Transitions to a 100% commission-based structure with enhanced commission rates and additional performance bonuses.
- Recurring Commission: Earn ongoing recurring commissions for every successful hire generated by both personal and team deals.
- Team Performance Bonuses: Eligible for additional bonuses based on achieving overall team and individual sales targets.
Metrics & Performance Indicators
To ensure long-term success in this pioneer role, performance will be evaluated through a combination of outcome-based metrics and leading indicators:
Outcome-Based Metrics
- Team closed deals and new client acquisition volume.
- Individual and team outbound activities (calls, emails, meetings booked).
- Client satisfaction and retention rates.
- Revenue generated and billable hours from acquired accounts.Recruitment, ramp-up, and productivity of new BDRs.
Leading Indicators
- Volume of new qualified prospects added to the pipeline
- Number of outbound sales activities (emails, calls, and messages)
- Discovery and sales calls scheduled
These metrics will be actively monitored during the ramp-up period and beyond to assess effectiveness, guide improvements, and inform future commission adjustments.
